Short, who joined the University of Houston in 2012 as a distinguished professor and founding director of the Institute for Policy Research and Evaluation, was named senior vice president in 2013. Previously, she served as vice chancellor for academic affairs for the Tennessee Board of Regents and president of the National Council of Professors of Educational Administration.
